Below and Above Collective

Over time, we’ve observed a wide range of species interacting with the structure—using it, feeding from it, and moving through it. We’ve caught glimpses of a muskrat eating the tops of the arrow arums; damselfly and dragonfly nymphs metamorphosing on the long plant stalks and on the bamboo rod; a Monarch caterpillar on the swamp milkweed; a Northern Water Snake, a Green frog, birds, and more dragonflies and turtles than we can count. And beneath the surface, we know an entire world of microorganisms—phytoplankton, zooplankton, and countless invertebrates—is also at work.
